I'm Corie Meredith, VP of Marketing at UMortgage, where I lead a powerhouse team that fuels the brand's engine. I earned a degree in Mass Media Communications and started out in social media marketing, which taught me early on what it takes to keep up in a world that never stops moving.
I got into mortgage marketing almost a decade ago, fueled by passion and drive I haven't lost since. It didn't take long before hard work, curiosity, and a genuine love of strategy put me on a trajectory I couldn't have planned if I tried.
At just 27, I earned the title of VP of Marketing at UMortgage, one of the fastest-growing mortgage companies in the country. How did I get there? By understanding the customer, actually implementing feedback, and never assuming I have it all figured out. I'm constantly learning from the people around me: UMortgage's leaders, our clients, and my genuinely amazing team.
These days, I stay close to the trends and even closer to the team. "Team" turned out to be my favorite part of this whole job. I'm an extrovert who craves relationships and community, and building people up is where I feel most useful. That's why I lead our Sales Development Cohort, and it's why I started Marketers Meet Up, because good ideas get better when people compare notes instead of competing.
"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people no smarter than you. You can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that other people can use."
— Steve Jobs, a quote Corie comes back to oftenMy journey is proof that talent, hard work, and a genuine commitment to getting better every day take you places you couldn't have mapped out. And I'm just getting started.
A passion project I started because I believe good ideas get better when marketers stop competing and start comparing notes. It's a community for marketers across industries to learn from each other, collaborate, and grow — and our first meetup was so much fun that my only regret is not starting it sooner.
